We collect only the information we reasonably need, including:

• contact details such as your name, company, email address and phone number;
• the content of enquiries, proposals and correspondence;
• account, billing and project information for clients;
• job applications, including CVs and contact details, sent to careers@sciongrowthsolutions.com;
• technical information such as device, browser and pages visited, where analytics is enabled with your consent.

Our contact form prepares an email in your own email application; nothing is stored by the website until you send that email. We use what you send to respond, prepare a proposal and manage our relationship with you.

The website uses only the cookies and similar storage needed for it to work, such as remembering your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser.

Where analytics is enabled on this website and you consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — for example which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive. Analytics is off by default and is not loaded unless you accept it. We may also use Google Search Console, which reports on search performance without placing cookies on your device.

Enquiry and client information may be kept in customer relationship management (CRM), email, project management and accounting systems so we can manage enquiries, deliver services and keep proper records.

We send marketing emails only where you have opted in, or where you are an existing client and the communication relates to similar services, as POPIA allows. Every marketing message includes a way to opt out, and you can also opt out at any time by emailing info@sciongrowthsolutions.com.

Where we offer online payment, payments are processed by our payment provider. Card details are entered on the provider’s secure pages and are handled by the provider; Scion does not receive or store your full card details. We receive confirmation of the payment and the information needed to match it to your invoice.

We use trusted service providers (operators) for hosting, email, CRM, analytics, payments and similar services. They process personal information only on our instructions, under agreements that require appropriate security safeguards, and receive only the information they need.

Some of our service providers store or process information outside South Africa. We transfer personal information across borders only where POPIA allows — for example, where the recipient is subject to laws or binding agreements that provide an adequate level of protection, or where the transfer is necessary to provide the services you requested.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, or to establish or defend legal claims. After that, it is deleted or de-identified.

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, damage and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure, reputable service providers. No online system is completely secure; if a security compromise affects your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to it;
• ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, out of date or unlawfully held;
• object to processing, including for direct marketing;
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
